Eid al Adha 1448: Expected Date and Booking Your Qurbani

Published · Last updated

Eid al Adha 1448 AH falls, by astronomical calculation, on Sunday 16 May 2027, an estimate whose final confirmation depends on the sighting of the Dhu al Hijjah crescent. The Day of Arafah is the day before, Saturday 15 May, and the last day of tashreeq is Wednesday 19 May. The date may shift a day if the actual moon sighting differs from the calculation.

When is Eid al Adha 1448 on the Gregorian calendar?

Based on astronomical calculations, the tenth of Dhu al Hijjah 1448 AH falls on Sunday 16 May 2027. This corresponds to the start of the days of sacrifice, when qurbani animals are slaughtered. The Hijri year moves forward roughly ten to eleven days each year relative to the Gregorian year, which is why the date of Eid al Adha shifts every year compared to the one before.

Occasion Hijri date Expected Gregorian date
Day of Arafah 9 Dhu al Hijjah Saturday 15 May 2027
Eid al Adha 10 Dhu al Hijjah Sunday 16 May 2027
Days of tashreeq 11 to 13 Dhu al Hijjah Monday to Wednesday, 17 to 19 May 2027

Is this date confirmed?

No, and this is a point many sites overlook. All of these dates are an astronomical estimate based on calculating the moon's phases, and the final official announcement of the start of Dhu al Hijjah comes after the actual crescent sighting a few days before Eid. So treat the date as an approximate plan, and follow the official announcement before finalising any arrangement that depends on a specific day.

Why book your qurbani now?

The booking price for our lamb qurbani is SAR 790 today, in-season prices differ from it, and whoever pays now locks in this price. Booking early guarantees your place in the execution queue before the days of sacrifice, instead of joining the crowd in the final moments. Our view is that this is a genuinely practical decision rather than marketing advice, since the closer Eid gets, the more orders are waiting, and booking early keeps you at the front of the queue.

How does execution work during the days of sacrifice?

Orders that reach us before four in the afternoon Saudi Arabia time enter the execution queue for the same day. We do not fix the slaughter hour down to the minute, we give you the day only, within the four days of sacrifice. After execution, a filmed clip is uploaded to your order's tracking page within 48 hours, with the name you wrote at the time of order spoken aloud.

If the clip is delayed beyond 48 hours from the slaughter for any reason, you have a choice: re execution, or a full refund of your money on the same payment method. Before the execution stage, cancellation is available with a full refund. After the slaughter there is no cancellation, except the late-video guarantee above.

It is worth knowing before you book: the days of sacrifice are four, the Eid day itself and three days after it. If your order enters the queue on the first day, it is usually executed the same day or the day after, but there is no promise of a specific hour or day within this window.

What if the official date differs from the astronomical estimate?

This happens almost every year, by a difference of one day, rarely two. The reason is that the official announcement relies on the actual crescent sighting, and sometimes weather or the observation location affects confirming the sighting even when the astronomical calculation is accurate.

This changes nothing about your order with us. Our execution is tied to the actual days of sacrifice after the official announcement, not a fixed Gregorian date written in an article. So if you booked based on the estimate and Eid is delayed by a day, your order waits along with it and is executed on the actual day of sacrifice.

Can I book early and pay now?

Yes, and this is exactly what early booking means. You pay now at the early-booking price, and your order joins the queue until the actual days of sacrifice arrive. If you change your mind before the execution stage, you can cancel and get a full refund on the same payment method, with no time limit preventing you from backing out before the slaughter.

Our view is there is no need to wait for the official announcement before booking, since your price and execution are built on the actual days of sacrifice, not a predetermined Gregorian date. Waiting just means you join the crowd along with everyone else who waited too.

This is an important difference from booking a medical appointment, for example. Here there is no fixed time slot you lose by booking early, and no late fee for delaying execution. It is just that priority in the queue goes to whoever booked first.

Book your lamb qurbani for Eid al Adha 1448

Can I book more than one qurbani at once?

Yes. If you have more than one name you want to offer qurbani for, your family, for example, or yourself and a relative, you can order more than one qurbani in the same session, and each order gets its own name and its own independent tracking page. There is no link between the orders, so each one is executed and documented separately even if you paid for them together. This helps a family that wants to distribute qurbani animals across more than one name at once instead of repeating the order steps for each one separately.

Questions people ask

Is the date 16 May 2027 for Eid al Adha 1448 officially confirmed?

No, it is only an astronomical estimate. Official confirmation comes after the Dhu al Hijjah crescent sighting a few days before Eid, and it may move a day earlier or later.

When is the Day of Arafah expected for 1448?

Saturday 15 May 2027 based on the astronomical estimate, the ninth day of Dhu al Hijjah, one day before Eid al Adha.

Does the price of lamb qurbani differ in season?

Yes. In-season prices differ from today's booking price of SAR 790, and whoever pays before the season locks in this price. Booking early also guarantees your place in the execution queue before the days of sacrifice.

What is the latest time to send my order so it enters same day execution?

Before four in the afternoon Saudi Arabia time. Any order after that enters the execution queue for the following day.

What if the qurbani execution video is delayed beyond 48 hours?

You choose between re execution or a full refund on the same payment method you used.

Can I cancel my qurbani after booking?

Yes, before the execution stage only, with a full refund on the same payment method. After the slaughter there is no cancellation, except that if the video is late you choose between a re-do or a full refund.
